Chichester Runners Trundle View 2023 Race report

It was a perfect evening for an off road 5mile gentle run, many of the runners tend to make a race of the fun runs to score points for their clubs,  but as you get older its quite pleasant just to enjoy the venues and the views and get round in comfort. 306 runners including 7 keen Flyers set off across a field into the woods.

Those of us who ran the old Trundle race will remember the hill, a mile up, around the top then a mile down. The new race has quite a few hills in fact undulating is an understatement most of the course is up or down, and you need to keep your eyes on the ground for roots and stones.

After 29: 05 minutes Liam Briscoe came running in, the first runner home (under 6 minute/mile). He was well ahead of the second runner, by about 300 metres. Liam looked as if he had only run a few hundred metres, an exemplary effort. Paul Quinnel was the next Flyer to finish, also in an excellent time of 35 minutes. Justin Curtis was the next Flyer home 38:43 minutes. Mark Anderson 55:27 was next followed by Nigel Porter and our first lady home Sarita Greenham,

1: 12:35, Jane Klückers was next 1:14: 19.

We all enjoyed a refreshing drink and a slice of a cake that Jane had made for us. It was a splendid effort by all of the Flyers, they are all looking forward to the Beach Run at Littlehampton.
