A further Save the Date has been announced with the Thamesmead Festival taking place on 02/08/25. If any club members would like to help on the day, please contact Sarah.
It’s been another busy month for races with TRC being represented at another two races abroad. Ana and Aoibheann raced in their second Super Half, ticking off Lisbon Half Marathon and Shelley, Kristen and Lola completed the Paris Half Marathon.
Also outside of English borders, Yat toured to Scotland and ran Holyrood parkrun followed by embracing Scottish cuisine with Haggis, tatties and neeps. He reports they are nice, but to just not look at the ingredients ๐
In other parkrun news, Will continued his tour streak with visiting Mile End, Foots Cray Meadows, Walthamstow, The Leas and Ingrebourne Hill. Yat also toured to Poole parkrun and joined Victoria Docks for their 7th parkrun birthday. Meanwhile, Gemma started a volunteer touring streak with volunteering at Swanley, Hoblingwell and Gunpowder parkruns.
This month also saw some of our club members go on their first ever running retreat. Rachel, Patty, Ana, Kathryn, Aoibheann and Gemma escaped to the Suffolk countryside for a weekend of running the trails, yoga, firepit chats and even some hot/cold therapy!
Our beginner’s group is nearing the end of their 13-week course; they are doing incredible and are now up to running 25 minutes continuously. Their 5K graduation run will be on 12th April!
Last month we shared that we are trying to grow our online presence. This is going strong with a growth in followers, accounts reached and engagement. If you haven’t already, please follow the club at:

Finally, Sarah shared how there is a huge national shortage for blood of all types and even if just half of the club’s members donated blood we could help save 139 lives. How amazing would that be? If you could spare 1-hour to donate blood, please book your slot at www.blood.co.uk.
