My lockdown journey

Well not sure I know where to start so bare with haha ....
Three weeks ago I was on annual leave from work when I got the dreaded call that I was going to be laid off from work for the forseable future, there was me how the heck am I going to cope ? I work as a retail manager and am always active. So there was me thinking how can I make the most of this as my routine was going to be turned upside down... I know, I can still go running and gym. Then lockdown was announced and the gym was going to close and then the next news no Ossy Joggers until April. I was thankful that Sally announced that we had virtual runs to look forward to with others.... then the news of social distancing mad lockdown came and we had to solo run!
Solo runs are hard sometimes, very hard, but getting out the door making the first step is a massive achievement and knowing that all other OJ’s will be out doing their own runs helps too.
For me solo runs make you stronger than ever before.
First few days of lockdown I went a bit stir crazy and feeling meh about things really, but I know I can't control what's going on, I know things have to be done this way to keep myself and others safe, so I decide to turn my unhappy thoughts into something positive.
As I love to run with OJ’s and knew I currently couldn't, I said to myself this is the time to set myself some personal goals on keeping active not only cause I love to eat CAKE but for my mental health. Even if it's just getting out for that one daily dose of exercise that we are allowed, DO IT! Fresh air makes all the difference, changes your mind set ... I love to take Storm (my dog) on adventures and most of the time it's on routes that Ossy Joggers have taken us on when running. Whilst walking I often think of the memories I’ve made with Ossy Joggers. I have also started home workouts, its amazing when we realise the endorphins we feel, so much more alive! PE with Joe Wicks is a great way to get going in the morning and get’s you sweaty (haha) sets me up for the day !
For me it's about keeping going, some days I have ZERO motivation and then I think about all the time and effort that goes in to our OJ virtual runs and I stop and think YESS I am going to get out and try and inspire others to do the same, running makes me feel alive ! Run,walk, ride don't matter just don't stop
Until we are all reunited as one
