TRF Turns 10

10 years!  Can you believe it?

What started as Nat offering support to another local group using her PT and group fitness knowledge to something still going strong 10 years on.  In this time we've been through a lot together, beginners and marathons, babies and weddings, lockdowns, holidays and festivals!

Due to run leader availability we don't always run as many sessions as previously, but we still aim for a mix of locations with a monthly Morley/Drig session and Summer will see a return of the Res too.  We also will continue to offer Discover TRF when we can to support new runners to our sessions.

Here's an update on what's happening right now;

We've raised hundreds for charity since we started and most recently we have support WF3 Kindness.  We continue to do that this year, if you want to get involved then you can dontate an Easter Egg (by 1st April) to TRF who will collect them and pass on to the group for their Easter events.  It can be a small egg, it's optional, and you can bring to a session or drop with a leader before 1st April.  We had a great stack last year!

Join us to celebrate at the Hare & Hounds!   Sunday 29th March 2026, 2pm

We'll be hanging out and sharing some of our best memories and chats, we've had some fab socials over the years.  Meals, drinks, quizzes, pub runs (!), plus Woodfest, York Races and we can't forget our annual Christmas Do ft. the best quiz!  We'd love you to pop down for a bit to catch up and celebrate.

New Leader

Earlier this year we raised some money for our current Run Leaders to renew their licenses. Will completed his and Hazel is up next so we can all continue to enjoy her hilly Morley runs amongst others! 🤣

We have always said we will remain a free group, come and go as you please when life is busy and no membership costs. But to enable us to stay up to date, qualified and insured there is a cost. We’re looking to fund another run leader (Lynda!) in the coming months, this costs around £225 and we don’t expect our leaders to have to self fund for TRF. We’ve got £70 in the pot from before so we’re ready to start those donations again to support our group.

For donations made throughout March and April we will add names to a raffle for a super TRF prize. Donations are totally optional, and for those who’ve already donated we thank you, and there’s no need to do again unless you want to. DM/email for details on how to donate.

Bring on the big runs!

Finally, a chance to shout out to some of our amazing runners who have big runs coming up.  Some for 'fun', some for the bucket list, and some for charity.  Whichever it is, good luck and we'r glad to be part of the journey.  Here's some of the links for the charity runners -

Jenny - Asthma + Lung UK - jenny drake (Super work as Jenny has reached over her £2500 target!)

Mark - Children with Cancer UK: Mark Lightfoot’s fundraising page

Connor - Running from Villa Park to Valley Parade for Jenson - JustGiving

We look forward to the next steps and more miles with TRF :-)
