Our Open Interval Sessions are designed to accommodate runners of all abilities and are suitable for both beginners and experienced club runners.
We start with a gentle jog to warm up and some dynamic exercises to get you and your muscles ready.
Then its on to a main set of intervals, which are a mix of running more quickly with slower or static periods of rest to recover. The main set lasts for 30 to 40 minutes. This varies from week to week and might see us running 800m repeats, pyramids of varying time/distance or games like Fox and Hounds. If these are unfamiliar to you, don't worry as it will all be clearly explained during the session. They're all done on lapped courses so you can run at your own pace and stop anytime.
Finally we have a cool down jog and stretches.
You'll find plenty of encouragement and advice from our Coaches, Run Leaders and other runners.
We charge a small fee to contribute towards our costs. Payment in cash on the night (to the Coach or Treasurer).
