Flyer runs
Here's a "where we meet and when":
Mondays: Slowcoaches. Gentle run for those who like a slower pace, meeting 6.45pm at the the shelter at the bottom of Chalkwell Avenue (car park side)
Mondays: Recovery Run at 7.00pm, meeting at the cafe in Southchurch Park
Tuesdays: Tuesday Trot at 5:30pm from end of St. Augustine's Avenue on Thorpe Esplanade
Wednesdays: Flyers Inspire (Slowcoaches), for those looking to improve their run times and distance. Winter/dark meet at Southchurch Park cafe, sunner/dark meet Gunners Park (main car park) at 6.45pm (check RT for each run).
Wednesdays: Quality session. Usually hill work or speed work. 19:00pm at various venues - please check specific dates for location.
Thursdays: Social run and walk. Usually between 3 and 5 miles, (relaxed conversational pace) 09:30am in Southchurch Park West car park
Tuesdays or Thursdays: Rainbow Run. 19:00pm. A safe space for LGBTQIA+ runners to be themselves, with like-minded people. Seafront, locations vary, approx, 5K, social run, all abilities welcome.
Fridays: Social run (relaxed pace) 19:00pm at Belfairs Woods (on road outside Greenhouse). Spring, Summer, Autumn in the woods. Winter on the road
Saturday can only be parkrun day!
Sunday: Long Slow Run day. Meeting points vary, check events section. Always 8.00am, Usually between 10 and 20 miles but with loops of shorter miles (e.g. 5 miles) for those not wanting to go long.
Sunday: Early Bird Run. From time to time an early start LSR exclusively for runners able to run at 13ish minute miles. Locations vary, check on here for details.
In addition, we have a monthly 5km handicap race that is usually the 4th Wednesday of each month but this may vary so check the Flyers Facebook page. Venue can vary so check the Flyers Facebook page.
Once a year in January we run a free Couch to 5K course for beginner runners. The course takes place on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Check out The Starting Line Southend facebook page for details. .
