Mud, sweat and tears!

As the league draws to a close, with the final race taking place at Eltringham Farm on Saturday, we’re proud once again to have taken part in the Start Fitness North East Harrier League (NEHL) — one of the most exciting and inclusive cross country leagues in the UK.
Cross-country is great for improving running and boosting winter fitness – it helps to build strength, confidence and resilience. And if there’s one thing that’s guaranteed, it’s that mud, sweat and tears (hopefully of joy!) bring out the very best Team Orange energy!
Fuelled by team spirit, plenty of laughs and of course cake, we turned up to have fun, give it our all and proudly wear our Team Orange club colours.
Our Club Captain, Dionne, encourages more people to consider giving cross country a try:
“The atmosphere is always buzzing, with plenty of encouragement from our members and fellow runners throughout the course. It may feel like stepping outside of your comfort zone at first, but our team are incredibly supportive. Once you give it a go, you’ll soon catch the cross-country bug and never look back!”.
A huge congratulations to all of our members who participated or supported as part of the cheer squad. Once again, it just shows that at Newburn Running Club – we truly are Going Further Together.
Bring on the next season!
