Welcome to our runs and walks section.
We meet regulary every Thursday night for a social run leading two distance groups and a jeffing group. In the Summer months we alternate week to week between road running around the City and trail running at Blean Woods. In the winter we stick to the City benefitting from the street lighting for a safer run. Run groups vary with most weeks having a 5k option, a 7 - 8k option at a slightly quicker pace plus a jeffing group running approx 4-5k.
On Mondays we challenge ourselves to a bit of speedplay, running up hills, varying pace and terrain in an informal training session. This is suitable for everyone as we stay together running up and down stretches of path/pavement. Its a real feelgood session and we don't take anything too seriously. This session runs throughout the year at a variety of locations.
On Tuesdays, our run Leaders Dev and Hannah lead two 7-10k runs around the City for more experienced runners. The two groups go out at slightly faster paces to Thursday's runs, but both remain social first and foremost. One requires you to be able to maintain a 5.30 min per km pace, and the other requires you to maintain a 6.00 min per km pace.
On the 2nd or 3rd Saturday of the month we join a local parkrun, the locations vary but we meet before and after the run often enjoying a coffee and catch up afterwards.
On the last Saturday of the month we enjoy a Trail run up at Blean. This is an easy 5k trail run to ease you into the weekend!
Through the summer we lead various RTC Trailblazer long Sunday adventure runs. These are trail runs taking place outside Canterbury to enjoy some of the Kent coast, countryside and local landmarks. These can be up to 10 miles and are taken gently, slowly and are to be enjoyed! Keep an eye out on the website/app for these.
Another monthly treat from RunTogether Canterbury are the RTC Wanderers walks. These walks are for our regular runners, those sat on the injury bench, those who would like to meet us and potentially start running with us and anyone who wants to get fitter through walking. This is a walking only group and distances will be between 4 - 6k in rural locations and will often involve cake afterwards!
If you are interested in our Couch to 5k programme, the next group will start in January 2026 and all the details will be listed early November 2025 so keep your eye on the website.
Here is a list of the runs that we have planned at the moment.
