Do I have to be a member ?
Yes please! We ask that everyone signs up so that we have your contact information in the event of an emergency. To sign up select How to Join from the menu at the top of this page.
How far do you run and how fast do I need to be ?
That depends on which of our runs you attend:
- On Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays we run for one hour and offer at least two distances, one of about 6.5k/4 miles to 8k/5 miles and another of about 9.6k/6 miles. You need to be capable of running one of these distances in 60 minutes.
- The Wednesday run is for one hour and about 5k/3 miles to 6k/4 miles. You need to be capable of running this distance in 60 minutes.
- On Sundays we run from 10k/6 miles and upwards. These are billed as "long slow runs" and are run at your own pace, though we usually run in groups of like runners.
How much does it cost ?
- Membership costs £15 for the year however please feel free to try us out a couple of times before committing to a signing up.
- Our membership runs from January to December and is discounted if you sign up after July 1st. For details please select How to Join from the top of the page.
Do I have to attend every run ?
No, it's entirely up to you. But if you plan on attending please remember to register on the RunTogether Runner app and make sure to arrive at least 5 minutes early.
What should I wear ?
A decent pair of trainers and sensible sports clothing for the conditions. In the winter months please wear bright clothing so you are visible in the dark and bring a head torch if you have one.
Do you have a Club Kit ?

Do I need to sign up for every run ?
Yes.
- If you plan on attending please book onto the run using the RunTogether app. This lets our Run Leaders know who to expect and how many runners they will be looking after.
- If your plans change, as a matter of courtesy, please take a moment to cancel your booking on the app.
When are your runs ?
- 6:30pm Mondays from the Holiday Inn, Tadcaster Road.
- 6:30pm Tuesdays with Heworth Harriers from Heworth Tennis Club.
- 6:30pm Wednesdays from the Holiday Inn, Tadcaster Road.
- 7:00pm Thursdays from the Millennium Bridge.
- 8:00am Sundays (only for Run York Plus members).
Can minors attend your runs ?
Only if accompanied by an adult.
