Our Committee
Newburn Running Club is proudly run by a dedicated team of volunteers who keep the club organised, supportive and thriving. Each member of the committee plays a vital role in providing a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment for all.
Chair – Jemma Harker
Provides overall leadership, sets the vision for the club and ensures Newburn RC continues to grow as a friendly, inclusive community.
Vice Chair – Ian Bell
Supports the Chair, helps oversee club operations and contributes to decision-making across all areas of the club.
Club and Membership Secretary - Rachel Bowie
Manages club communications, minutes, documentation and ensures smooth running of meetings and official processes. Handles all membership enquiries, renewals and registrations, helping new members settle into the club.
Treasurer – Kay Thompson
Responsible for club finances, budgeting and ensuring funds are managed responsibly and transparently.
Lead Welfare Officer – Wendy Carr
Oversees all welfare and safeguarding matters, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for every member.
Welfare Officer – Chris Ashburn
Supports member wellbeing, handles concerns sensitively and helps uphold club safeguarding standards.
Head Coach – Keith Batey
Leads the club’s coaching programme, delivering high-quality sessions for all abilities and helping members achieve their goals.
Club Captain – Dionne Milburn
Acts as the motivator and representative for runners, supporting members at races, encouraging participation and building team spirit.
Coach Coordinator – Jason Meecham
Manages the coaching team, session planning and ensures training is structured, safe and inclusive.
Social Media Secretary- Amber Matthews
Responsible for organising club social events and managing our social media presence to keep members informed, connected and engaged.
General Committee Member – Laura Clegg & Helen Elliot
Supports various club activities, contributes to decision-making and helps enhance the member experience. Assists across club operations, events and activities, ensuring members feel welcome and included.
