FAQ

Who Can Join?

Runners of all abilities are welcome. Due to the challenging nature of our sessions, you should be able to run continuously for at least 50 minutes. If you’re new to trail running or running in general, our Couch to Trail sessions are a better place to start.

We run together at mixed paces and no one is left behind. Faster runners must loop back by running behind the last runner, not by waiting ahead. Please don’t speed off, as this keeps the group together and avoids anyone getting lost.

How to Join

Pre-registration through the RunTogether app or via our Booking Page is required for all sessions. Bedfordshire Trail Runners reserves the right to uninvite any participant.

What to Expect in the Sessions

Our sessions usually begin with dynamic drills led by the run leader, followed by a running session lasting 40 to 60 minutes, depending on the distance. Sunday runs are longer, and details will be provided at sign-up. The running routes and terrain vary weekly, guided by the run leader.

Facilities

Our runs take place in the countryside, woods, footpaths, and hills, so there are no toilets or changing rooms. Bring wipes for personal use if needed. Avoid bringing valuables as there are no secure storage facilities.

Age Restriction

We are an currenlty an adults-only group (18+).

What to Wear and Bring

> Footwear: Wear trail running shoes for optimal grip and stability.
> Clothing: Dress according to the weather. Opt for moisture-wicking fabrics like merino wool or synthetics instead of cotton. Consider second-hand options from Vinted.
> Hydration and Nutrition: Bring water or an isotonic energy drink, preferably in a belt or hydration vest. Snacks, gels, and energy bars are also recommended.
> Visibility: In low light or darkness, wear bright-coloured clothing, hi-visibility jackets, flashing lights, and a head torch. A head torch is mandatory between September 30th and March 31st.

Headphones

For safety reasons, do not wear headphones during our runs. Carry a mobile phone in case of emergency, especially if leading. Also, carry some form of ID or ICE (In Case of Emergency) information.

Running with Dogs

We do not allow any dogs on our trail runs.
